Dear Kats,
Thanks for your concern with regards to the sponsorship of the ex GAMSU VP and
others like him who have and are victims of the Students Massacre of 10th and
11th April, 2000.

The GESO Team is still waiting for a reply from the Independent and Satang
Jobarteh of SIMMA Vocational Training Institute (one of the GESO-Gambia co-
ordinators). I sent the following mail to the Independent both on the 24th May
and the 29th May with a copy to Baba Galleh Jallow recently. It would be of
great help if anyone on the list can provide us with the requested information.

Consultations are already going on between the GESO Team and the committee
responsible for the April Massacre Fund Alpha Robinson, Soffie Ceesay and
Karamba Touray. We are at the moment waiting for the reply to our enquiry as
stated above before coming with a proposal to the L. Both GESO and The April
Massacre Fund were established by Gambia-L members and any final decision would
have to be decided by members.

Once again, thanks for reminding us.

****** My Mail to the Independent on the 24th and 29th May 2001 ****

To Whom it may concern

From the Issue of Monday May 21st, 2001 you carried a story of Mr. Nyabally's
sponsorship being discontinued with immediate effect.

I am writing to enquire about the amount that will be needed for him to be able
to continue his education per year and how many years is left for him. As a
member of the Gambia Education Support Organization (GESO), I need this
information in order to further discuss with other members of the Transition
Team what we can do in assisting him.

I look forward to your quick response.

Regards,
Momodou Camara
