Thanks Prince, I will listen to your massive collection.
I can see that it is a pretty good variety.

Peace
King

Subject: The Remembrance Music Library

Gambia-L,

It has been in the offing since last Summer and now it is finally here. I have decided to release a PART of my music collection to Gambia-L members and the rest of the world. The Library is on the Napster Server. Since Napster is being driven to the wall, I think it's about time you got the Oldies some of you have been looking for. So, if you are not on Napster, get it right now from http://www.napster.com If you are using Rapigator or Napigator, you don't have to worry, since they both log on to the Napster Servers.

The collection of past music has long been a favorite pastime of mine and in the past some of you have been downloading sounds from my FTP-server. Before Napster closes, I think everybody should grab whatever he or she can get. Here is a tip on how see my library.

1.) At the Search tab enter the name EBRIMA CEESAY as artist and the word TONYA as title and then click on find it!
It is unlikely that you will find more than one entry. DO NOT DOWNLOAD THIS FILE, IT IS ONLY A DUMMY.
2.) Select the entry you find and then click on "Add selected User to Hot List" (bottom-right of your screen.)
Note: The name of the user must be Dr_Sloans with a cable connection.
3.) Then Click on the Hot List tab above and double click on the user you've just added and VOILA!!!!
The steps above are for users with the latest version of the Napster Engine v2.0 BETA 9.6

If by any means you can not download, because of a "snail" modem, or NAWEC not delivering or for whatever reason, you can send me a PRIVATE mail with the list of the sounds you want and I shall see to it that you get them. I WILL NOT RESPOND TO ANY REQUEST SENT TO GAMBIA-L. BASTA!!!. For Cable, ISDN, DSL or Satellite users who are irritated by "Transfer Errors" and "Time Outs", we can return to my FTP server, If your send me a PRIVATE mail.

A SPECIAL WARNING TO GAMBIANS IN THE GAMBIA: Please do not attempt to download, unless you work out the cost. With the instability of the Napster Servers, It could take up to an hour to download one sound. And at 50 butut a minute, it could leave a hole in your pocket. And also considering that you could get up to 95% of the sound and then get a "Transfer Error". The Napster Engine does not resume from where it stopped, but starts the whole process again. The only people who would be rubbing their hands will be GAMTEL.

One very important note: I have deliberately exclude old Gambian sounds, for reasons I will not go into now. I have informed some of you about it and I commend your understanding. I will not send any Gambian music privately, so do not ask for it. I have also included a category call "Politicians". These are some of the sounds that implicitly refer to that species of mankind. Listen to them attentively.
There are a lot of Greek and Indonesian Music in the library. The Greek sounds are for a long lost Baddibunka friend of mine and the Indonesian sound are for other friends.

My library will be online the whole weekend till Monday morning 26th February and then daily from 17:00 GMT to midnight.

This Library was triggered primarily by Sidi Sanneh when he wrote last year about missing his favorite by African Fiesta. Well, S M they are all in.
Ebou Khan, Ola Coker, Sulayman Jallow, OJ, Latjor, Daddy Sang and Katim, I think there is a lot in the Library for you people. The majority of the songs in the library are songs we used to listen to when The Gambia was The Gambia. Some of them were only obtainable at the "Donia Fancy and Record Palace" at the junction of Allen Street and Fitzgerald.

My special thanks go to those of you who contributed to it.You know yourself. To Saul Jallow, Sahiou Omar Sallah, Badou Ceesay and Ebou Njie ( Not the DIGP), I thank you all for the "Trimming". Kemo Manjang, without you we would still be arguing about what must and what not.
Enjoy!

Prince.

P.S.
To play the sounds on your PC you need an MP3 player and you can get it everywhere, but winamp is FREE and you can get it at http://www.winamp.com for free, gratis and for nothing.
I give no apology for the quality of some of the sounds. Most were recorded before DOLBY was born. The overwhelming majority are of exceptional quality.
