Hi Pa Modou!
Thanks for your thoughts. I really hope, like Joe, that the situation we fear will not arise. Have a good evening.

Buharry, I do not think that the APRC is crazy enough to even comtemplate removing a legitimately elected mayor or chairperson for any political reasons. The rejection of some of their own candidates in the just concluded Local Government elections shows how the APRC supporters at the grassroots level would not just blindly follow the party. You may be surprised to know it was the APRC supporters who openly campaigned for him Pa Sallah Jeng and were the most jubilant. Many did not even hide the fact as they wore APRC T-shirts drumming and moving around town. Indeed I believe he will have a very easy time of it as he seems to be genuinely popular with people at the grassroots level and comes across as a sober and conscious man. I am sure the elected councilors of the APRC themselves are quite conscious of his popularity and unless anyone of them wishes to commit political suicide they would need to coperate with and give him all the support he needs. I ! wish them all good luck.
Finally, I believe the president's removal is a bit similar to the removal of the chairpersons except that in the case of the president, his/her removal is by members of The National Assembly.

  Sanusi,

I will wait for the detailed analysis you plan to do and in the mean time if I find the full Act anytime I will post it on the L. If it is a lot and needs a lot of typing, I might contact you by private mail and fax it to you.

  Have a good day, Gassa
