Seedy,

Until Matarr Njie is reinstated, the so-called "healing and reconciliation" is pure nonsense.

Matarr Njie,

Thanks a lot for that interesting piece. It has been very boring with
anti-Jammeh sentiments since the cancellation of your subscription to the L.
I subscribe to your views. I vehemently believe that the L is very
hypocritical in looking at personalities and not facts. The recent attacks
and remarks on Mr. Halifa Sallah and DR Saja Taal by some members of the
List were no worse than what you did. Yet, they continue to enjoy the same
membership you have been denied. This reiterates your point that this
Gambia-L interface does not stand for what it really calls for. Sadly, this
shows how badly we are in need of leadership.

Why was ex-President Jammeh an invitee to a lecture at Miami University? Who
invited him there? Yet, that same person is now calling for healing and
reconciliation and engage in a dialogue with the Jammeh government in order
to bring about a true and meaningful democratic government. Where does the
neutrality lie here? How would Jammeh and his government or any sensible
person see this? Mr. Jammeh was here a few weeks before Jawara arrived in
town. What happened? In short, the ideas and proposals contained in "Time To
Heal Self And Nation," are great, but the personalities associated with it
are undoubtedly questionable. I think, the sense of Jammeh and his
government/advisers is being put to test. Only time will tell the outcome of
"their" wishes.

By the way, Dawda, in the same name of democracy and freedom of expression, I
think you did a great job on behalf of Matarr by forwarding this great piece
to the L. I think his subscription should be reactivated as the so-called
"Healing and Reconciliation" is in process.

Seedy Saidykhan.
