Secretary of State Madeleine Albright Jamadi Al-Thaani 23, 1421
The Department of State September 22, 2000
 2201 C Street, NW
 Washington, DC 20520 Fax: 202-647-7120

"Your American Passport Doesn't Mean Anything To Us.
                     You're Gonna Die In Here!"
 Dear Madam Albright:

One would assume that the above quote is said by an official of a "rogue"
state, but in fact is was said by an official of Israel, a country which
received about $100 billion from our tax monies given in U.S. military and
 economic aid, since 1949.

"Your American Passport doesn't mean anything to us. You're gonna die in
here.!" This was said to an Orlando, Fl resident, Anwar Mohammed (an
American citizen), whose ordeal was reported by CNN & TIME Correspondent,
Charles Glass in "An American in Israel" aired on Sunday September 10, 2000.
Glass reported that Anwar Mohammed was imprisoned in Israel for 40 days in
1998 without ever being charged for any crime. Mr. Mohammed claimed that he
was also tortured by Israeli captors.

CNN & TIME reported that Mr. Mohammed was in Israel visiting his Palestinian
relatives. He said that he felt betrayed by his American Government and
accused the U.S Consulate officials of not providing several of the services
required in the State Department's own Foreign Service Manual! Mohammed
described his harrowing ordeal to CNN Correspondent Glass saying: "They came
in and threw me in just a concrete box". Mr. Mohammed also said that he was
left isolated until an investigator came and questioned him about his life
in the United States. "I told him everything so they would let me go",
Mohammed said. But they didn't and he believes that they wanted him to
confess to membership in a "terrorist" group. The Israeli official also
refused to accept his American passport and told him: "Your American
passport doesn't mean anything to us. You're gonna die in here."!!

Dr. Albright, we, the undersigned strongly condemn the Israeli torture and
imprisonment of any American citizen and call upon you to do the same by:

 1) Issueing a statement of condemnation of Israeli torture and imprisonment
of American citizens. For more details check: SHIN BET TORTURES, BUT LESS
 http://www.haaretzdaily.com/htmls/kat25_9.asp

 2) Investigating the U.S. Consulate officials for not providing Mr. Mohammed
sevel of the services required in the state Department's own Foreign Service
Manual. For more information check: http://www.cnn.com/CNN/Programs/cnntime

Dear Secretary of State, our hard-earned tax monies should never be given to
countries that officially torture imprisoned suspects who are denied duw
process of law. Anxiously awaiting your reply. Sincerely,

 Dear Muslim Leader/Imaam/Ameer/President: Jamadi Al-Thaani 21, 1421/
                                     September 20, 2000
Assalamu 'Alaikum wa Rahmat-Allaah wa Barakaatuh.

The attached petition is urgent and needs your immediate action,
in-shaa-Allaah. It was already signed and sent by the Islamic Center of Long
Island, N.Y. and other Masaajid. We urge you to do the same. Remember:
"yadu-Allaah ma' al-jamaa'ah", meaning : The support of Allaah, Subhanhu wa
Ta'aala, is bestowed on those who work and cooperate together. You may wish
to change the wording of this petition, but if you agree with its text, all
 you have to do is:

 1) Photocopy as many petitions needed for your jamaa'ah/congregation.
 2) Place the petitions with pens on tables near the entrance of Al-masjid.
 3) Explain the petition's main points to the worshipers/al-musalleen, before
or after Salaat Al-Jumu'ah and urge them to sign it.
 4) Have someone standing near the petition tables to remind your jamaa'ah to
sign and print their names on the petition.
 5) Count the number of signatures and mention the figure in a cover letter,
similar to the petition on your masjids's letterhead, signed by the
 authorized officer.
 6) Fax, E-mail, or mail your cover letters to the addressee without the
signed petition, but you could mention in a (P.S.) that "the signed
petitions could be mailed on request."

Dear Muslims, we need not emphasize the importance of your immediate action,
which will, in-shaa-Allaah, help us to practice the Islamic teaching of
Prophet Muhammad, Peace and Blessings be upon him, who advised: "When you
are confronted with something wrong, correct it with your hands; if you
can't, then speak-out about it and if that can't be done, then pray with
your heart that it will be corrected, and the latter is the weakest of
 Eemaan/faith."

Kindly fax to CAIR-NY 1-212-870-2020, a copy of your cover-letter for our
effective follow-up efforts. Or if you wish us to send it on your behalf,
fax to us the signed petitions at 212-870-2020. Jazaakum Allaah
 Khayran. Brotherly,
                                         Ghazi Y. Khankan
                        Executive Director
