Hamjatta Kanteh:

I know you are on the right: In fact, you are a big time capitalist with
lots of millions of dollars to dish out!(laugh) I am only joking!

Anyway, it would be great/nice if you could come and take part in this
debate slated for 7 July in Central London on the topic: Capitalism versus
Socialism. See the details further below. I am quite certain that your
comments would be listened to. And, besides, this is an era of endless
learning; it is also an era of information sharing and the exchanging of
good/solid ideas.

By the way, Sister Ndey Jobarteh has kindly agreed to collect contributions
from those of us in the UK, after which she would be handing over what has
been collected from here, to Brother Alpha Robinson in Germany, being our
contributions towards the Fund established in the memory of those students
killed in the Gambia, on 10 & 11 April, by the Jammeh thugs.

In fact, later today, Sister Ndey Jobarteh should be sending me the bank
account where we can send our contributions to. And needless to say, once I
receive the bank details, I'll post them to the L.

So, Hamjatta, make sure that you send Sister Ndey - at least - one million
pounds Sterling as your contribution. And before I forget, Hamjatta, I must
say that I am enjoying reading the private exchanges between you and Matarr
Njie in Malaysia. He has been copying them to me for reasons best known to
him.

>Dear Comrades,

>As we promised on the picket of the Gambian Embassy last month we are
>emailing you to keep you in touch with activities that are coming up.
>Recently we have been extremely active in defending refugees from the
>scapegoating of the Tories, the media and New Labour and turn back the tide
>of racism. Tomorrow evening (Weds. 24th May) at 7:30 pm there is a rally
>in Camden Town Hall, Bidborough Street, London (nearest tube: Kings Cross/
>St. Pancras). Speakers will include Tony Benn MP, Bruce Kent, Theresa
>Bennett and Suresh Grover. This will be an extremely important rally and
>will be the launchpad for a series of local meetings across the capital and
>also a national demonstration for Saturday 24th June in defence of
>refugees. It would be really great if you could come along to this and
>bring some of your friends and contacts. Hope to see you tomorrow.
>
>The other event we thought we should tell you about is Marxism 2000. This
>is the biggest anti-capitalist conference in Europe where 6,000 socialists
>and anti-racists come together with all the best speakers on the left,
>including John Pilger, Naomi Klein, Susan George etc., in central London
>between 7 - 14 July. This is the place where the socialist alternative to
>capitalism will be discussed and debated and is the vital place to be for
>all those who want to change the world. Again this event is really
>important and it would be great a contingent of Gambians were there. If

>Please keep in touch with us and tell us of any more events in your
