Ebrima, thanks to your source for this update. Gambians need to demand full
disclosure regarding this scandal. We cannot just sit and treat this as
business as usual. Folks in the country, especially the party leaders need
to be in the front of the charge and journalists need to keep the issue in
the papers. The opposition leaders need to work directly with the
commission and other third parties in Nigeria and not depend on information
fabricated by these criminals. Where is Sidia, Halifa, Hamat, Juwara, and
OJ? We need to hear from the rest of the opposion.

As for Marcel Thomasi, what do you expect from him. His life and existence
depends of disinformation and he'll shamelessly foam from the mouth from a
concoction of lies and liquor. By the way, do you have any contact
information for the commission in Nigeria, or the contacts for the
journalist/Paper that broke the news, or any other avenue that I can access.
  Keep up the good work.

Chi Jaama

Joe Sambou

>>Hello Coach,
>>
>>The mouth piece of the Jammeh regime, Mr Marcel Thomasi, took to the press
>>today to refute the allegation made in the "ThisDay" newspaper of Nigeria
>>and the subsequent UDP press release demanding explanation from this
>>corrupt and increasingly irrelevant Government of incompetents and thiefs.
>>
>>Government's rebuttal went at great length to explain the fact that the
>>UDP never uncovered the story but rather regurgitating what was claimed by
>>the Natural Resources Consultancy firm based in Nigeria whose motive for
>>breaking the story was financial. Marcel Thomasi's account further
>>claimed that the transaction was normal, as many African countries were
>>utilizing the facility offered by the Government of Nigeria and that the
>>transaction only generated $99,000 which was deposited in the Government
>>accounts at the Central Bank. What Marcel Thomasi failed to tell Gambians
>>was the bigger picture he conveniently left out of his rebuttal and thus
>>putting this corrupt government in deeper trouble with the Nigerian
>>authorities, Interpol and, most importantly, the Gambian people. He
>>failed to tell us what happened to the rest of the consignment that was
>>allocated in the name of The Gambia. And for the information of the
>>readership of the Gambia-L and the Post, the $99,000 which was deposited
>>in the Central Bank, was what was eventually used to buy gas oil for
>>NAWEC. THESE PEOPLE THINK GAMBIANS ARE FOOLS. WE ARE NOT.
>>
>>What the official response from Government has achieved is to allow us to
>>submit this as the official response of Government which will be
>>considered as part of the evidence submitted to the Nigeria Criminal
>>Commision. In fact, this has already been done and we encourage others to
>>let the Commision in Nigeria know how we, as Gambians and friends of the
>>Gambia, feel about the level of corruption displayed by the Jammeh regime.
>> The level is so intolerable that Bishop Cleary has finally added his
>>voice by calling the Jammeh regime more corrupt than the Jawara regime.
>>Well, it is about time that the Bishop distanced himself and his parish
>>from this immoral, inept and corrupt regime.
>>
>>Marcel Thomasi's rebuttal was long on platitude to Yahya Jammeh and short
>>on substance. It has also inadvertently dug a deeper hole for the Jammeh
>>regime to climb out of.
>>
>>Meanwhile, Amadou Samba, Edi Jobe and Mambury Njie are trying to absolve
>>themselves to friends of blame and how they were duped by Jammeh into
>>signing the Memorandum of Understanding. We say to these despicable
>>characters that they should hold their peace until they face the Nigerian
>>Commission. Meanwhile, this story will be pursued to its final conclusion
>>which will lead to the arrest and trial of Yahya Jammeh and all those who
>>have participated in this heinous crime against the Gambian people. They
>>will be tried in our own court of law in the very near future for their
>>crimes against innocent Gambians.
>>
>>We will get rid of Yahya Jammeh and his entire corrupt Government so that
>>we can start rebuilding the Gambia which has been destroyed by eight years
>>of mis-rule.
