Ebrima,
The information your concerned Gambians are sending us through you is
invaluable. Keep up the good work. Literally hundreds of thousands of
Gambians both within the country and abroad are on the side of these
concerned citizens and we join them in their condemnation of this donation.
Reassure them that we will work tirelessly to rid us all of the cancer of
Yaya. I think under the present circumstances, a more appropriate gift from
the French government, would have been the donation of ambulances or spades
to dig graves for our dead children, or a state of the art emergency room or
a mortuary, etc. May be the ambassador who sends us postings at times can
shed more light on this unwelcome gift.(it's funny how these people
disappear in thin air). After we find out the genesis of this gift, we might
think of ways of registering our strongest condemnation to the appropriate
authorities in France and elsewhere.
Ebrima, I wish to take this opportunity to also urge you and others to join
in the debate about what to do upon removing Yaya from office. You do not
have to agree with the means we advocate for the removal of Yaya in order to
contribute to this discourse. It is important that we show everyone around
the world that we have clear and workable alternatives to Yaya. Alternatives
that will lead us to lasting peace. Let us not allow anyone to put us on the
spot by posing the question: 'after Yaya, What? Or Who?' Thanks again for
your good work. And tell your sources to keep hope alive. WE MUST GET RID OF
YAYA BY ANY MEANS NECESSARY.
