May be some poticos in the forum can help explain the meaning of landslide victories in our Gambian or African context. I remember that in 1992, former president Jawara won a confortable majority in the general election. Two years later, he was made to flee the capital by a foursome military council headed by the then Captain Yaya AJJ Jammeh. The same people who were supposed to give Jawara the handsome majority, were dancing in the streets jubilating at his unceremonious removal from power. That says a lot about our majorities.
