The Gambia Post is certainly not a pro-government list. There are too many
serious-minded compatriots there to prevent that. But our basket of national
calamities these days are too numerous, too disquieting, to deter even the
most energetic amongst us from useless e-mail fisticuffs. Yet George Sarr,
making a re-entry after three, maybe four years of self-imposed exile from
Gambia-l, with such amnesiac rudeness is symptomatic of the Gambian
condition itself.
Perhaps the Gambia Post is the most pro-Democracy list on the face of the
earth. Fact or Fiction, it sounds like a court crier's assertion; an
assertion that is antithetical to the state of Gambian democracy today. An
adult insulting other adults in the name of democracy might be a happy
principle for a tiny band of excitable web-warriors akin to soldiers turned
into rulers - where else, if not Gambia!

FYI, Sweden's most respected newspaper, Dagens Nyheter, reported today that
732 African migrants illegally reached land at the Canary Islands yesterday.
They arrived in eleven tiny boats, one of which sailed from the West African
coast of the Gambia(!), the paper reported.
