A man who was found beaten and stabbed to death in a car park may have been
a spiritual faith healer from the Gambia, police said on Friday.

The victim, described as a black man in his 20s, was found by a man cycling
home in Leagrave Park car park in Luton, Bedfordshire, last Saturday.

The man's death has been described by detectives as "like a ritual killing".

Officers have not released a name, but think he may be a faith healer who
came the UK from the Gambia in 2003.

Det Supt Keith Garwood, who is leading the investigation, said: "We are
focusing in on a number of strong leads as to the motive for his death.

"The way the body was dumped also suggests little thought has gone into the
disposing of it, and that in itself is providing us with a number of clues."

The victim was found wearing a black shirt and jeans under which he also
wore tracksuit trousers. He was wearing nothing on his feet.
