Mr. Ghanim,

The book on women leaders is at the moment circulating within the neighbourhood. As soon as I lay hands on it again I will see what one can do to make access to it easier.

Best wishes,

Momodou S Sidibeh

  >Goodness Ndey, truely devastating. I got Satang's booklet on Gambian Women leaders from Momodou Camara who is infact currently in Gambia. He planned to visit the vocational training centre whilst there.
  >
  >It is quite understandable to register the shock her death must cause the youth at the centre. Satang Jobarteh's death is a great loss to the Gambia, where there is a dearth of progressive and independent-minded women. She practically and vocally challenged the excesses of those in power at great cost to her own personal liberty. She endured much harassment from the state for daring to say what she felt was just and right.
  >
  >Hers was a strong voice that is now silenced; a ray of light lost in the dazzle of stars; a huge heart that stopped pounding for freedom.
  >
  >She belongs in a line of historic and brave Gambians.
  >May Allah shower much mercy on her and give her eternal peace.

  > I just don'e know where to start with this heart breaking news. Satang Jobarteh a feminist, human right activist has passed away yesterday.
  >
  > Satang has been a friend, sister, she has struggled all her life to make sure that there is justice back home. She has worked hard to make sure that youths back home are given the chance and opportunities. And this lead to her setting up the SIMMA Vocational Centre. Her dream was for SIMMA to have its own building, a multi purpose centre for the youths. This dream came througth last year when she moved SIMMA Vocational Training Centre to a new building at Bundung.
  >
  > This morning these youths were asking me the question what are we going to do now? We cannot take care of our selves at present, will there be another Satang?
  >
  > This news is really shocking to me, it is devastating. I did not only lose a friend, but a Sister and a politically committed Gambian.
