Kangaroo court part II - Continued.

Thank you your honour. Mr. Makaveli asked what is happening to government's
coffers as we speak. Well, your honour, according central reports,
government coffers have slightly increased from a little under 4 1/2 months
of import cover when my clients came to power in 1994 to about 5 1/2 months
of import cover now.

The other allegation your honour, that as we speak, my clients are stealing
from the treasury is totally baseless and without merit. Your honour, my
clients are very hard working servants of the public who have repeatedly
donated their hard earned money to worthy courses such as the Jammeh
foundation for peace. My clients donate to youth groups as well as providing
scholarships to needy students.

On the allegation by Mr. Dampha that my clients received from the Government
of Taiwan a huge sum of money (in excess of $20 million) and that this
amount of money was taken out of Taiwan in suitcases simply does not hold
water. You see, your honour, no responsible government, particularly the
government of Taiwan will hand over such a colossal sum to individuals. More
over, your honour, all government monetary transactions are done through
central bank and treasury and there is absolutely no evidence that my
clients withdraw money from the central bank. More over your honour, had any
such misappropriation taken place, the national audit office would have
detected it and the national assembly informed. As has been the case since
my clients came to power, my clients have always done all their trnsactions
very transparently. My clients believe in transparency and accountability .

It is evident from the evidence of prosecution witness No.1, Mr. Kebba
Dampha, that all the evidence he has at his disposal are based on hear-say
and cannot be admitted. The Nigerian crude oil allegations against my
clients have been found to untrue by the national assembly and thrown out.

Based on all these your honour, I submit that my clients have no case to
answer.

Have a good day and bye 4Now, KB Jobe.
