Mr. Ceesay, if the people of Niani under estimate the independence and
competency of all judges in The Gambia, they will still have Kebba Fanta
Kumma as their chief. We don't always have to assume that the judiciary is
going to be bias.
Now, to help everybody understand voting and counting process in The Gambia,
let us conduct a civic education on Gambia-L. I will suggest that everybody
write what he/she think might be possible to rig counting during elections
in The Gambia. For example, vote dumping, exchange of ballot boxes,
rerouting of fax lines to State House instead of IEC Headquarters, etc. We
will compile the list and answer them one by one. Our answers will mainly
focus on what safeguards PIEC had in place to avoid such rigging. With our
expertise, we can better help people to understand every single aspect of
vote counting.
Mr. Ceesay, politicians don't turn results in their favor on election day.
They work for it well before counting. I hope you are monitory the current
state of affairs back home. Is that not pathetic? If the current trend
continues, the opposition alliance will lost the forthcoming presidential
election. And who to blame, innocent IEC officials.
