Major Alert About the March on the Pentagon
Pentagon March will step off at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday March 17
Also: contingent registration information
  *Please forward widely*

Cindy Sheehan at Tuesday's press
conference for the March on the Pentagon

The march will begin at 12:30 p.m from 23rd and Constitution, N.W.
There will not be a rally at the assembly area, as we want to hit the streets and march to the Pentagon. There will be a rally at the Pentagon. It is important that everyone make the effort to get to the assembly location at 23rd and Constitution early. Try to get to the site by noon - don't miss the march! If you are coming by bus or driving from out of town, make sure your group is leaving early enough to get you to the assembly site no later than noon.

At the assembly site, between 8 a.m. and 12:30, there will be a pre-march People's Assembly in the park at 23rd and Constitution. Contingents and organizations will be providing information displays and literature tables. We will be joined by the famous Bread and Puppet Theater. There will be children's activities, including sign-making for the march, where our children can also pick up anti-war balloons. There will be a large Impeach Bush tent with impeachment materials and a place for impeachment advocates from around the country to gather and meet.

Contingent Organization - Sign Up Now for the March
The March on the Pentagon will not only be very large, it is drawing together people who have never participated in any demonstration before. Active duty soldiers, soldiers' families, Iraq war veterans and other veterans are mobilizing and will form the front contingent.
We are hearing from many other contingents who are registering to have their contingent section in the march. Students and youth, labor, Arab and Muslim community organizations, Latin American Solidarity groups and others are forming contingents. In the next few days, we will be announcing contingents' placement in the assembly area so that everyone will have an easier time finding those with whom they are planning to march. The contingents will be joining the tens of thousands of other people who will participating in the march. You don't need to be part of a contingent to march, but many groups want to form contingents to have a unified identity in the demonstration.
All contingents need to register right away so that they can be provided an area for their assembly. The ANSWER Coalition will circulate a list of contingent gathering points in the next few days. Send a paragraph (not too long) about the contingent and its goals and unifying theme so that we can publicize your groups plans. You can do this by clicking on this link for the contingent form. You can get regular updates by going to www.marchonpentagon.org.

Your Help is Needed Today - Please Make a Contribution Now
Building for the March on the Pentagon has been an exciting country-wide mobilization. It is a classic grass-roots organizing effort. There is no corporate or foundation support. We rely entirely on the donations of people who are committed to building the most powerful anti-war movement possible. This is a critical time and we need you to make a generous donation today. You can make a tax deductible contribution by clicking this link. We have the staggering costs of stage, sound, busses, set up, signs and banners that have to met for this demonstration. Hundreds of volunteers are working to make this demonstration happen. Please contribute now. We can succeed, but only with your help.
