The International Music, Dance and Cultural festival of The Gambia "The
Roots Festival" will take place in The Gambia from The 26th of June to
The 2nd of July  2004.

                                       "Putting Gambian Music in The
Picture"

This one week event will feature traditional and contemporary Gambian
and international superstars, costumes and dance as well as as a faire
containing food, Gambian and African Arts and craft.

Some of The artists from the past that have performed at the featival
featured many stars like Youssou Ndour, Island recording artists Malamin
Joberteh and Kawsu Suso, Jaliba Kuyateh and The Famous Gambian and
African Salsa sensation Senor Oussou Njie, as well as obscure master
performers from all over the continent
