For the longest time its been a struggle to call Gambia from anywhere. In the last six months, I traveled to 3 continents, North America, Europe and the Middle East; and each time I try to Call Gambia, its been no end of frustration. It is almost impossible to get through to the person whose number you dialed.

The calls get through alright, but some unintended person picks up the phone, often speaking in an accent or language uncommon in the Gambia. Sometimes the call is just picked up with no one answering. In all this, the callers credit is being consumed.

In the Middle East in particular, one can go on for days without getting to the person whose number is dialed, and in the process, a few tens of Dollars is lost.
Wondering if Gamtel knows about this, and if so, is it a technical problem or some scam to fleece us our hard earn dollars. Hoping for any answers.
