During the Jawara regime,The Gambian people enjoyed the rule of
law,democracy,
and human rights that earned them respect from other nations around the
whole
world.During these years the people desired a change and
unfortunately,changes
came as a form of a coup. The hard fact is that a legitimate and elected
government
was overthrown, since then The Gambian people have witnessed and continue
to be
part of some of the worst human rights abuses in the history of The
Gambia.
As a result a lot of people were massacred and buried in mass graves,of
which
the former Ministers of the Interior and Finance were also victims of
those massacres.People were abducted from their homes and detained
without trials.
Recently,we have all witnessed the needless murder of innocent children
because
of the conscienceless convictions of Yaya Jammeh and his cohorts.A
crumbling
economy is an understatement as far as The Gambia is concerned.
Based on my personal opinion the solutions include, but are not limited
to the following-----
1. Every Gambian should stand up against what is wrong, and ensure that
their
      human rights are fully respected.
2. All Gambians should unite to ensure that this current dictatorship
is removed
and never permitted to resurface.( NO MORE COUP DÈTAT ).
3. The leadership of all political parties should refrain from
       TRIBALISM,NEPOTISM and FAVORITISM.
4. Every Gambian should put the economic and security of the Gambia
first, before any prevailing SELF INTERESTS are contrived.
Comrades,I think we should use our intelligence to find a better
solution to the
problem in a constructive way.We should also try to respect the views of
others,
not to be dictatorial towards all sides of the struggle. We pray to the
Almighty God
to help us achieve our goal in a peaceful way,to avoid putting sores on
top of our
wounds.
TO EVERYONE KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK,THE TRUTH WILL ALWAYS PREVAIL.
                                    Thanks
                                        Elhadj.
