Dear AMS:

I sincerely respect your right, and I hope
you do the same. I believe the inference is
unfortunate on your part. It is interesting
that you are still hiding in the closet.
Please identify yourself. I have met
Tombong Jatta and Mrs. Bajen Sosseh. It is
a shame that Mrs. Sosseh is being victimized
for standing up. Are you saying that I should
not condemn SOS Touray for his indifference
because I endorsed the APRC/NCP coalition?

I had clearly said in my endorsement that I
will not be a prisoner of thoughts in engaging
the APRC/NCP coalition. I wish we can put
party politics aside and concentrate on
national development.

I do believe that a blanket support to the
government is suicidal in nature. We must
understand that we may disagree even if we
support the same political party. It is a
dangerous trend to support every principle that
the government promulgates. Disagreements in
policy provide reasonable assurance for national
devolopment. Insensitivity and lack of concern
will further move us back.

I will never bite my togue in dealing with
issues. I am a moderate and a Gambian. . It is a value to sometimes revisit history, and ask yourself the importance of value system.
The Gambia rises above all our sentiments.
It is rather unfortunate that the opposition
cannot agree in settling small issues.

I again want to reiterate that my engagement
is not necessarily an invitation of economic
compensation. I seek no position in this
government. My principle is adherence to
principle, and respect of individual rights.
There is a saying that you can belong to a party,
and criticise them at the same time. I will not
be afraid to condemn inconsistencies in the
government.

Naphiyo,

Comarade ML Jassey-Conteh
