Thanks lamin, for the comprehensive explanation. I'm inline with you. I think the authors were high. Remember, the usual "jamba" or ganja, is at their disposal 24-7. But they should remember that journalism comes with responsibility. They are aiding and abetting the murderers of Deyda. It is simple as that. As it stands, it appears clear that these ghouls will not stop at anything. Dr. Saja Taal as the APRC Administrative Secretary, had on many occasions, confessed his unhappiness with the editorial policy of the Point News paper to me. He bragged and swore that "the Point Newspaper was going to face a natural death; because Deida Hydara want to be stubborn on this regime." He was very very disturbed with Deida Hydara's editorial policy. At certain point of our conversation, he even recounted the childhood days he shared with Mr. Hydara in Banjul saying that Deida was very famous among girls in their childhood time. (no disrespect)
Dr. Taal told me he spent a lot of time chatting with President Jammeh at the President's residence in State House after closing from work and I dare speculate that considering the obsession of Dr Taal with Mr. Hydara harsh editorial policy, and of course, that of President jammeh on Good Morning Mr President, there are high chances that the issue of how to contain Deida Hydara will be extensively discussed in their chats.
I also dare speculate that considering the erratic behavior of President Jammeh and the fact that Dr. Taal is a celebrated an addicted w...d smoker, I bet Jammeh will no doubt get high with him. Marijuana addicts make the best friends and can make wild decisions during such sessions.
Considering the kind of provocative and evil editorial Observer has written to defend the APRC government's cruel behavior toward the peaceful journalists, I can safely say that if the APRC government should be in power this time next year, observer will have an editorial that says; it was Mr Hydara's fault that he was killed with gun shot wounds in the head. What kind of permit does the journalists need to place a wreath at the site of Mr. Hydara's murder. Observer hugely distorted facts by saying that the journalists were on demonstration. It was not a demonstration. I know the Jammeh government is very edgy when it comes to demonstrations. This was plan to be a simple wreath laying ceremony in honor of the life of Mr.Hydara. It is nonsensical that observer's editorial said that because Deida was not a christian it was provocative on the part of the journalists to organized a wreath laying ceremony at the site where Mr Hydara was murdered . "We would like to state
here loudly and categorically that the GPU should not have organized a march which was not authorized by the police as required by law. Deyda was not a Christian and the idea of laying a wreath on the spot where he died can only be interpreted as provocative, especially when the site is in a public domain and when such a public gathering of journalists was done without due permit from the law." With this kind of stupid reasoning, we can conclude all the veterans whose memories are celebrated at the July 22 Square in every remembrance day are Christians because President Jammeh lay a wreath of flowers at the Senotaf.
I look forward to see these monster in a Sadam Hussein like Court room where they will be caged and hear the atrocities they committed on the people of the Gambia. They belong to a cage.

Too often situations of conflict are created between media houses and the
state and, in particular, between journalists and the forces of law and
order.
The Daily Observer, like other newspapers, is aware of the precarious
nature of journalism as a profession in a world of conflicts. Indeed,
journalists have lost their lives and continue to lose their lives in war
zones such as Iraq. Thus, when a journalist is lost, the Daily Observer
cannot but see the loss in the general context of the profession and the
risk involved.
The death of Deyda Hydara was an event of concern and we continue to
support the police in their investigations to shed light on this case.
As we await the results of the investigations, it is the responsibility of
every professional journalist to support the due process of law. The
conference which was organised on 15-16 December for the commemoration of
Deyda’s demise was a platform that was a manifestation of the freedom of
speech as seen in the deliberations from the journalist fraternity,
although we dare say that some of the personal attacks were most
unprofessional and unfortunate.
The march or demonstration organised by the Gambia Press Union (GPU) and
the plan to lay wreath on the spot where Deyda died was an unfortunate
incident that should never have occurred.
We would like to state here loudly and categorically that the GPU should
not have organised a march which was not authorised by the police as
required by law. Deyda was not a Christian and the idea of laying a
wreath on the spot where he died can only be interpreted as provocative,
especially when the site is in a public domain and when such a public
gathering of journalists was done without due permit from the law. Gambian
journalists must realise that they are not above the law and our parent
organisation must not be seen to be encouraging journalists to break the
law and to disobey the forces of law and order.
Stability and security cannot be compromised. Acts of illegality should
not be part of the personality of a true journalist.
