Mr Jobe
Are you suggetsting that the Lord decreed that there be light because Yaya
Jammeh is the president? Don't be an idiot!!! The Good Lord decreed light
long before Yaya was and would have decreed light whether or not Yaya is
existing. All the developments you higlight are due less to Yaya's
presidency and more to the dynamics of international politics and economics,
and to the Gambia being a nation within the international political system.
Moreover, freedom in poverty is better than wealth in bondage. Yaya's
government may be achieving some success in burdenning the country with more
debts that may be useful to Gambians. But what about his kidnapping of the
Gambian people? What about his refusal to limit the number of times he can
run for president? What about our right to a peaceful and orderly change of
leadership? What about his propensity to behave as if he owns The Gambia?
What about the existence of draconian decrees which continue to represent an
insult to our national intelligence and dignity?
Give us a break Mr Jobe. You are not communicating to a group of simple
minded individuals who could be taken in by a list of so-called economic
achievements. We look at the whole picture: Socio-economic and political.
Yaya Jammeh, whether you like it or not, is one of Africa's worst dictators
and will one day be relegtated to the stinking dustbin of history and be
eternally added to Africa's list of shame alongside Sani Abacha, Samuel Doe,
Mobutu Sese Seko, Idi Amin, Siad Bare, Robert Mugabe and Jean Bedel Bokasa,
among others. You cannot fool history Mr Jobe. Yaya must reap what he has
sown.
Pa Modou Jobe
