First of all, the Movement for the Restoration of Democracy in Gambia would
like to thank all G-Ler's for their support, but have to single out the group
from Washington, DC for attending this important event. Even though these
guys had to drive four hours from DC, New Yorkers were surprised to find them
in front of the Gambia Mission with their placards up and ready for Yahya
Jammeh and his entourage.
Minutes after setting up position across from the Mission, a white car driven
by Botoh Sanneh's son, Njagga, with two other punks, whom we at first thought
were NIA Agents/provacateurs, turn out to be members of the dysfunctional
FUGEES RAP/REGGAE Group, currently being lodged by Botoh Sanneh...Yahya's
July 22nd Movement Thugs, began showing their true colors in NY. Since they
were sent to capture pictures of demonstrators for NIA use, as we were
promised/threatened upon calling Yahya's Hotel....our pictures will be posted
at all entry points in the Gambia with orders for our arrest, some of the
guys rushed the car and placard planks were used to pummeled the guy with the
video camera, whereby, New York City Police Officers sent to escort us to the
UN, took control and rescued their behinds. Unfortunately, our placard planks
were seized by the Police, with the assurance that, if, Yahya's Agent
Provocateurs returned to the scene, they will be arrested for
inciting/provoking a riot.
We were escorted by NYC Police across midtown to the UN Dag Hammeskjold Park,
where Yahya's clowns/agents Botoh Sanneh & PAPA PUYH NJIE et al. camped at
the entrance, with the intention of misdirecting/luring Gambians coming to
the demonstration, to a different venue.
Gambians, Senegalese, African and White Americans supporters, showed their
anger at Yahya Jammeh, AFPRC/APRC Regime[s], NIA harassment and infringement
of human and constitutional rights of Gambians and for the unconditional
cessation of harassing and imprisonment of opposition political party
leaders, members and innocent Gambians, such as Dumo Saho et al.
Watch out for the posting of a full text of the demonstration on various
Gambian websites and those of you in the Gambia, especially the media, have
authorization to access the videocam and use any part of the text.
The DC Sisters and Brothers are still on their way back home, so give them
time to settle down and get this event to you LIVE AND DIRECT from NY.
Our sources informed us that, DictatorYahya's only chance to meet Gambians
around the New York area, by the way, a selective 'KAABUDU' is scheduled for
Saturday, 9, 2000, at 2.00pm at the same hotel on 58th Street and 6th Avenue.
We are calling on all Gambians to crash the reception [TAX PAYER'S MONEY],
not to eat the blood-tainted food that will be served, but to show the
dictator how sick, tired and fearless of him, we are. Please dress up in your
African dress or suit, so as not to look suspicious to the NIA.
See you at 12.00 noon tomorrow.
