Kotu Habib:
Truth is both sides, not the Western media this time, have acknowledged that
there was no massacre. The Palestinian authorities have acknowledged the
same thing and the IDF has been claiming for weeks that it did not enage in
widespread indiscriminate killings of Palestinians. These reports clearly
vindicate the IDF of engaging in this type of actvity.

Furthermore, it also goes to show that contrary to what meany thought on this
forum, the Israeli incursion was not carried out to indiscriminately kill
Palestinian civilans or to terrorize them. I am still of this firm belief,
and this report clearly reinforces my view. This said, atrocities, like in
any other war, were comitted. But Jenin was a serious fight and if soldiers
have bullets coming at them from all directions, they most probably will
react in the same way the IDF soldiers did.

Finally, I believe occupation is wrong and though some might justify suicide
bombings as assymetric warfare, there are better, more diplomatic ways to
resist the Israelis. Hopefully with the help of the UN, US and Western
Europe, a solution will be reached which will, like Ebrima said, make sure
the security of Israel is not compromised but at the same time, help set the
stage for a Palestinian state.
