Mr. Jow:

You raised a very interesting point and subsequently wrote:

This is the kicker; one has to have a digital radio to receive transmissions
from a digital radio station. Given that the majority of Gambians probably
have analog radios, don't be surprised if a business controlled by Amodu
Samba and Tarek Musa and specifically for the purpose of marketting analog
radios pops up somehwere.

Unless the current radios being used in the Gambia to recieve transmission
from the FM( Frequency Modulation) station is not suffice which I think
should be, and only if one has to have a side-band radio, then it will be
interesting to see which business man would emerge as the supplier of these
equipment and I stay tuned for the developments regarding this issue.

My impression and understanding for transmitting digitally is for less
bandwidth usage, less expensive and less distortion over distance to reduce
attenuation , BUT I am completely ignorant regarding the technology.

My question to you though is, don't you mean marketing digital radios
instead of analog (AM)?

Can you or anyone on this forum kindly educate those of us with limited
knowledge on this topic particularly regarding amplitude and frequency
modulation- AM or FM?

Best Regards,

Ablie njie-Lekbi
