Comrades:

Our struggle to unseat the dirimo of kaninlai
should not be negated because of differences of
political ideology. Without hesitation, I want
to extend an olive branch to Mr. Alieu Ceesay and
an appeal for us to concentrate on more
substantive issues.

Whether we disagree or not, we converge on this
momentum because of our love for The Gambia. As
I refocus and pay respect to the likes of Colonel
Sam Sillah, I will be making a mockery of democracy
if I engage Mr. Alieu Ceesay in divisive arguments,
the resultant of which might make the dictator
smile. Whether PDOIS subscribes to communism or
not, its supporters have key roles to play in our
struggle. In the absence of the dictator of
kaninlai, we are then at liberty to engage PDOIS
on a failed political ideology.

Finally, may I say that I will be the last person
to sink the ship of salvation. I hope our
collaborative efforts in setting up a Unity
Conference in Atlanta becomes a reality. In
summation, I do not care who becomes the next
president of The Gambia as long as that person
gives us life, liberty and the pursuit of
happiness. This simplistic English usage has
been misinterpreted by Mr. Alieu Ceesay.

Naphiyo,

Comrade Muhammad Lamine Jassey-Conteh:
Greensboro, NC/Kombo East Constituency
