OECD-African Development Bank Publication Reviews Africa’s Economic Outlook
28/01/2001 - Africa's economic growth is expected to remain positive at
around 3.2 per cent per annum over the next two years, and most of the
governments of African countries operate the budgets with a surplus.
Nonetheless, increasing numbers of people live in dire poverty, due partly
to the alarming economic effects of HIV/AIDS. A new study by the OECD
Development Centre and the African Development Bank, African Economic
Outlook, provides a broad overview of economic conditions in the continent,
identifying disparities in performance and possible lessons that can be
drawn from them. Click on Development books theme to know more about this
report and other titles on international development. Source:OECD Web Site
