Dear Opposition Leaders:

Now that Mr. Yahya Jammeh has lifted decree 89 and that
your rights to political democracy have been restored,
I am appealing that you form a united front against the
APRC government. As from today I will no longer be
calling Mr. Yahya Jammeh, dictator. His move on Sunday,
July 22 is commended. Applaud should be given to him
for taking the political reality of maturity in
bringing sanity to The Gambia.

As a member of the National Convention Party, I hereby
appeal to my leader, Hon. S.M.Dibba to do some soul
searching and reach out to the UDP, PPP, GPP, PDOIS,
NRP and any infant opposition. Though I am indebted to
the NCP, I am of the opinion that the overall interest
of The Gambia is above my sacred pleasure.

The next gentleman I salute is Hon. Hassan M. Camara.
Historically Hon. Camara, the Contehs and Camaras are cousins,
thus in this regard I will not waste time to appeal to
you. If I can go back to the late Mr. John Jawo's days
at Faraba Banta Primary School, you frequently visited
your friend as the Minister of Education. The value
system that you lectured us is still within me. In this
humble regard sir, I deeply and sincerely appeal to you
to reach out for a united front against Mr. Yahya Jammeh.
I had walked numerous times on New Perseverence Street.
You and my dear leader, Hon. S.M.Dibba were the best of
friends. You can even reach out and touch him. A Camara
and a Dibba, who happens to be a Baddibunka is also a
cousin to the Contehs. You know sir their popular saying
is "nyimu tilibonkoleti, nma long ebay min fola." Sir,
don't mind them, I know what I am saying.

Hon. Amadou O. Jallow (OJ), I will flatly say that you
are no stranger to me. You were my co-worker at the
Gambia Commercial and Development Bank. You were
disappointed to learn that I was and still an avid NCP
supporter. Our friendly conversation was so personal
that you took time to even encourage me to apply for
admission at a university or college in the states. Your
promise was that you would do everything to make it possible
that my tuition, room and board are paid. My reply was
no thank you because I would hate to cross-carpet to the
PPP. Well sir, the PPP and NCP are cousins, and in times
of hardship, cousins return to the family tree and
arrange to have in place their utmost interest. As a man
of dignity and a man who will go extra miles to help, I
appeal to you to encourage the PPP to join hands in a
collective effort in forming a united front against
Mr. Yahya Jammeh and the APRC government. NCP, PPP and
GPP are from the same family tree. It was the devil and
and our unwillingness to work together that created this
division. I hope that when you and Hon. Lamin K. Jabbang of
Kombo East Constituency meet, you can remind him that a
young fellow who seeked to topple him at one time has cried
loud about the injustice down to him and the entire PPP.

It will be a waste of time and energy if the opposition
is disjointed. I hope the leaders can come to the
realization that a united front is the only solution in
curing the cancer.

May your efforts materialize? May the prayers our of elders
germinate? Long live demoracy and down with the APRC
government.

Naphiyo,

Comrade ML Jassey-Conteh
Greensboro, NC/Kombo East Constituency
