Folks,

The past three days have been memorable to all Gambians. On 9th April 2003
we witnessed the dramatic toppling of a dictator from his flinty pedestal.
On 10th and 11th of April we reflect on the third anniversary of the
horrible massacre of unarmed Gambian children. The symbolism of the events
of 9th April is a wake-up call to all despotic leaders that their power is
mere temporal, considering that about 6 months ago 99.8% of the population
voted for the very man whose downfall they were jubilantly celebrating.
The 10th and 11th April are days of reflection and prayers for Gambians.
Some of us pray for the soul of all the innocent victims of that callous act
to be received in some heavenly resort, but many of us pray for the day when
all the perpetrators of that dastardly act will face justice and rectitude
in the impartial courts of the Gambia. So let us never forget the objects of
our prayers on these days.

Prince
