Mr. Sallah,

I had my runs with you earlier on this forum because I believed, and still
believe, that your economic agenda and its underlying principles, falls
short in this modern era. However, frankly speaking, all decent Gambians
should not hesitate to cast their votes for you, unless they're
hallucinating. My reason for commenting as such stems from the knowledge
imbalance that exists when compared to the president, Hamat Bah, and
Ousainou Darbo. I believe you also possess the leadership qualities
necessary to head a nation. For a true leader must know, must know that he
knows, and must be able to make it abundantly clear to those about him that
he knows. From the many debates you've carried on this forum, it leaves me
with no doubt that if Halifa falters, Halifa will have an explanation to why
he faltered. Now that is important comrades. We need leaders who can bear
responsibility for their actions, leaders that encourage and promote
transparency, leaders who understand the fundamental problems of Mother
Gambia.

We've all read about Ousainou Darbo's speech in New York, and how he made
his entire speech in Mandinka. I am not a tribalist for one, but what's the
purpose of an Official language? What? he can't communicate well in
English? I hope not, the guy is a doctor. To me, that's what I call a true
tribalist, PERIOD! OR an UNFIT leader. The frustrating thing about the UDP
party is the lack of AGENDA and proper planning. What da heck would I be
doing in the US when I have a national election coming up in 4 months?
Haaa, they need funds, I got it and it makes perfect sense. But shouldn't
they have done that last year or the year before? Or maybe they enjoyed
cyberspace so much so that, they wanted to meet their cyber friends in
person and thank them in person, and ask for more money. Poor planning
folks. The UDP party is running around like a bunch of old heads and
remnants of the ex-president's era playing monkeyshines to win the
presidency, without any significant effort. How hard is it to update a
website weekly? This site has so much irrelevant/old information, you find
yourself clicking the "BACK" button on your browser before the page is even
fully loaded.

Like I said, I've had my runs with Halifa and his principles of democracy,
but there's no doubt in my mind that he is a better leader and candidate for
presidency. We should ask the question WHY vote for this person? Perhaps
you will agree with me. Halifa, I wish you luck in the upcoming elections.

Essa
