Just a brief response to this. Not that I find it interesting.

Queen Amina of Kano was a famous warrior/leader too. More famous until the
recent elevation of Yaa Asantewaa to her recent status by new myths.

Also, the virgin warriors of Dahomey, referred to as the Amazons by the
Europeans, were also very famous. Whereas Yaa Asantewaa was more an
instigator arousing men to fight, these were real warriors, renowned for
their skills in battle, not to mention ferocity and cruelty that made the
Dahomeyan kingdom feared! Klaus Kinski made a film based on them in Ghana
and shown in Norway too around 1987 or so. Thinks the name is Cobra
something, Verde? You can rent the video.
