It is abundantly clear in the verses of the Holy Qur’an that Islam is strictly against any form of violence. Islam preaches peace and love in all its teachings. I have never come across a verse in the Qur’an and the Traditions and Teachings of Prophet Muhammad where violence is preached. The Qur’an keeps on refraining believers from injustices in dealing with other human beings. If you read anything about Islamic history you would realized the way the Islamic empire had expanded and ruled its territories. Do you know that Jerusalem and the entire land of present day Israel was under Muslim rule for decades? There existed perfect peace between the Jews, Christians, and Muslims. They both performed their religious believes and practices in the communities without any problems. In fact Spain too was ruled by Muslims for several decades while allowing Christians and other faiths practice their faith without Muslim hindrance. These are clear indications that Islam is a peaceful
religion.
However, I know that there are Islamic fundamentalists who advocates for violence in achieving their selfish interests under the cover of Islam. These are a very small minority among the believers. This is not unique to Islam. Do you know about the ku klux klan who have terrorized blank people in the name of Christianity. Is it appropriate to conclude that all Christians and violent. No. Furthermore, the Jewish believers also have fundamentals among them but that does not make all the Jews fundamentals.
Therefore, the notion that the West holds all Muslims Terrorists is inaccurate in the eyes of many. It is just a few people who sell that idea for their selfish interests.
On the issue of the cartoons, it was not only Denmark and France newspapers that printed those offensive cartoon but several other European newspapers. The following European newspapers printed the cartoon: Germany’s Die Welt Daily newspaper, Italy’s La Stampa newspaper and the Daily El Periodico in Spain, saying they want to support the right of their Danish and Norwegian counterparts. What is that right the European newspapers have claimed to be fighting for? I think it is the Freedom of speech. Why is it not applicable to all social issues? I know the holocaust is true but would it be illegal to deny it when it is right to misrepresent the prophet as a terrorist and hence branding all believers as terrorist. Secondly, it is well known that Islam does not favor pictures. Therefore, from my point of view, the cartoons were printed intentionally to infuriate Muslims. The unexpected side effect of their action is giving Islamic fundamentals a boost in their advocacy for violence.
On the other hand, is it illegal to deny the Triangular slave trade? Has anybody apologized for it? No. It is my belief that the Atlantic slave trade is the worst crime committed against humanity.
I think the West have to realize that Islam is the second largest religion in the world and it is growing faster than all the other faiths. Therefore, it is vital for the West to understand the Islam religion preached by the Holy Prophet and practiced by overwhelming majority of Muslim. The terrorists are killing and maiming more Muslims than members of other faiths. So both the West and the overwhelming majority of Muslims are fighting against the terrorist who are trying to blackmail Islam. I think American newspapers did the right thing by abstaining themselves from provocation of these magnitude.

And freedom of speech is fundemental in any civilized 21st century soceity, but it does not make it right for people to abuse other peoples religions just because they have opposing views to it. Even if they say the prophet was a suicide bomber, does it really make him that? NO! We all know that those catoons are not factual, they`re just merely the authors` opinion on what they think Islam is.
But any that knows what the holocaust was like will condemn any that denys it. It was real, and beleive me any that denys or even convinces others to do the same should be given the bitteriest punishment possible. We all know the number of lives the holocaust have claimed.
And beleive me, in the minds of most western countries, islam is a violent religion. And neither you nor anyone else can prove otherwise, as we`ve seen the type of inhuman behaviours muslims and people who claim to be followers of the prophet are putting up around the world; in Iraq, Afganistan, Iran, Pakistan, ETC. ETC. and even in Europe and the US. And preaching that it was infact islamis for a muslim to take the life of a non beleiver, all these have given islam the image it has today in the west and most other parts of the word. Jus look at for example the way they reacted to these catoons, it sends across exactly the same message the catoons were meant to be sending; that islam is a violent religion, and muslims are violent and in-tolerant.

Holocaust Denier Gets Three Years in Jail By VERONIKA OLEKSYN, Associated Press Writer 4 minutes ago
VIENNA, Austria - Right-wing British historian David Irving pleaded guilty Monday to denying the Holocaust and was sentenced to three years in prison, even after conceding he wrongly said there were no Nazi gas chambers at the Auschwitz concentration camp.
Irving, handcuffed and wearing a navy blue suit, arrived in court carrying a copy of one of his most controversial books — "Hitler's War," which challenges the extent of the Holocaust.
"I made a mistake when I said there were no gas chambers at Auschwitz," Irving told the court before his sentencing, at which he faced up to 10 years in prison.
He also expressed sorrow "for all the innocent people who died during the Second World War."
But he insisted he never wrote a book about the Holocaust, which he called "just a fragment of my area of interest."
"In no way did I deny the killings of millions of people by the Nazis," testified Irving, who has written nearly 30 books.
Irving's lawyer immediately announced he would appeal the sentence.
"I consider the verdict a little too stringent. I would say it's a bit of a message trial," Elmar Kresbach said.
Irving appeared shocked as the sentence was read. Moments later, an elderly man who identified himself as a family friend called out, "Stay strong, David! Stay strong!" before he was escorted from the courtroom.
Irving, 67, has been in custody since his November arrest on charges stemming from two speeches he gave in Austria in 1989 in which he was accused of denying the Nazis' extermination of 6 million Jews. He has contended that most of those who died at concentration camps such as Auschwitz succumbed to diseases such as typhus rather than execution.
The court convicted Irving after his guilty plea under the 1992 law, which applies to "whoever denies, grossly plays down, approves or tries to excuse the National Socialist genocide or other National Socialist crimes against humanity in a print publication, in broadcast or other media."
Austria was Hitler's birthplace and once was run by the Nazis.
Irving's trial came amid new — and fierce — debate over freedom of expression in Europe, where the printing and reprinting of unflattering caricatures of the Prophet Muhammad has triggered deadly protests worldwide.
Kresbach said last month the controversial Third Reich historian was getting up to 300 pieces of fan mail a week from supporters around the world and was writing his memoirs in detention under the working title "Irving's War."
Irving was arrested Nov. 11 in the southern Austrian province of Styria on a warrant issued in 1989. He was charged under a federal law that makes it a crime to publicly diminish, deny or justify the Holocaust.
Irving had tried to win his provisional release on $24,000 bail, but a Vienna court refused, saying it considered him a flight risk.
Within two weeks of his arrest, he asserted through his lawyer that he had come to acknowledge the existence of Nazi-era gas chambers. Before the trial began, Irving told reporters he now acknowledges that the Nazis systematically slaughtered Jews during World War II.
"History is like a constantly growing tree," he said.
In the past, however, he has claimed that Adolf Hitler knew little if anything about the Holocaust, and he has been quoted as saying there was "not one shred of evidence" the Nazis carried out their "Final Solution" to exterminate the Jewish population on such a massive scale.
Vienna's national court, where the trial is being held, ordered the balcony gallery closed to prevent projectiles from being thrown down at the bench, the newspaper Die Presse reported Sunday.
It quoted officials as saying they were bracing for Irving's supporters to give him the Nazi salute or shout out pro-Hitler slogans during the trial.
In 2000, Irving sued American Holocaust scholar Deborah Lipstadt for libel in a British court but lost. The presiding judge in that case, Charles Gray, wrote that Irving was "an active Holocaust denier ... anti-Semitic and racist."
Irving has had numerous run-ins with the law over the years.
In 1992, a judge in Germany fined him the equivalent of $6,000 for publicly insisting the Nazi gas chambers at Auschwitz were a hoax.
