                             Has NADD Named its Flagbearer?
Thursday 5th January 2006
Someone hinted us yesterday that the opposition, National Alliance for Democracy and Development (NADD), has just named their flagbearer following nationwide samples of opinion. Is that so? What a good news if all comes to light!
Our source further informed us that the selection didn’t go without some itches. We were told that one executive member is not in support of the chosen flagbearer.
Could the leadership tell us who the flagbearer is to avoid rumour mongering?
We are anxious to know, as it is vital to know one’s presidential aspirant or would be leader, for many reasons.
Anyway, we are impatiently waiting to see who the person is.
  Don’t Increase Transport Fares
As many people are preparing to travel to their various towns and villages to spend the Tobaski with their families, we would like to express the concern of many about the rumours of an imminent hike in transport fares.
This has been the occasion that unscrupulous drivers and owners of vehicles capitalize on to increase fares and thereby make life difficult for commuters.
We are therefore appealing to drivers to desist from such undesirable practice. We are also making a special appeal to both the Gambia Transport Union and the police to be alert and watchful in order to forestall such practice in the society and to get those drivers involved in the habit arrested.
To the intending travellers, we urge you to be vigilant and mindful of pickpocketers.
