Thank you for taking the lead on something so important to us and our
children. I become quite proud and hyper when a griot shouts "sey sawaneh", yet I
never took the time to ask my dad about the history behind that title! Thus, I
am very interested to see those who know, to please provide descriptive
meanings of these titles. El Hajj Faye and Hatib Ghanim, sorry to put you on the
spot, but your wealth of knowledge could be quite beneficial:-)
Here are a few from me:
Sey = Sey Malick, Sey Sawaneh Macca Bun Malick Sey, Sey Pulo
Chune = Chune Demba
Drammeh = Korima Gamba (the Saraheulehs) maybe Bass can help with the
history?
Sidibeh = Sidibeh Ning Sankareh
Jeng = Jeng Sallah
