Comrade Conteh,
Your responds to comrade Lamin J Darboe was not at all genuine simple his candid respond to your mail is to deal with Joe on the subject of discursion rather than personalities bases. Each of us who have been a watch dog of social justice since the creation of these forums and we knew how consistence Joe Sambou have been demonstrating in these forums, you either like the man or hate him, he is a man with all his principle intact. I wish you stop the line of injecting other issues that have no interest to the general readership. Each of us have our own friends and relatives in the government of the day, its left to them as individual whether to dispense justice as required to them or otherwise.
I don't see the importance of Joe being related to Harry Sambou or some one else perpetuating fraud in the name of safe guiding the Jammeh regime. Sheriff Dibba's case is a different one, he has vomited words like, " if you don't vote for me, vote for the boys" the latter is not expected to some one like Sheriff Dibba. Though you knew Dibba has committed political suicide on the very day he declared his support to the Junta. He continue to degenerate the respect accorded to him by his supporters. Don't you think the old man is weeping in his cell, remembering all those who asked him to be sincere in his principle. He made a tremendous mistake, not only to him self but all his followers including ML Jasseh- Conteh.

Comrade Lamin has demonstrated his believes in guiding social justice in all forms, especially during his days working as magistrate. I refer you to check with those resident at western division during his sojourned their as a magistrate. The guy has all his qualities as one who can stand high among his people, he is not the likes of Dibba and Dr Janneh. Lamin Darboe see the importance to call your attention by even criticize anything that goes against the norms of our social fabrics.
Homeland or death, we will triumph!

Jassey Conteh <[log in to unmask]> wrote: Mr. Darboe:

You are entitled to your opinions. But I think it is relevant that you research
this episode since March 21. Joe attached me first. Also, I was making a
reply to sister Jabou's inquiry.

I stand by the fact that Harry Sambou is Joe's relative. We are in no court
of law to attest to biological testing. I know the Sambou family very well.

If we want to bring sanity to the Gambia, we have to be inclusive and
avoid tribalism. Joe publicly insulted Mandinkas on GambiaL. I believe
tribalism is the worst form of discrimination. Joe said that Mandinkas
thought they have birth right to be president. This should be condemned
by everyone. This is an abomination.

Furthermore, Joe wrote and chastised Mandinkas. Does he have the right
to generalize Ousainou Darboe's actions with every Mandinka. It is better to
attack Ousainou as a person, but I think it is discriminatory to attach
all Mandinkas for Ousainou's actions.

Do I have to reject your participation in the struggle? Were you not part of
the APRC regime before you left for England? When you were in
Nashville, were you not constantly writing articles criticizing the PPP
regime? Do I have any right to condemn your actions? No I don't.

Joe has been a person who takes issues personally. If we want to bring
sanity in the Gambia, we have to be objective. I welcome criticisms. I had
the right to be part of the struggle. I have the right to like Dibba? When SM
became speaker of the House, I wrote to him and publicly dissociated myself
from his politics. I even called him. But in all honesty, I refuse to hate him.
Please check the archives on GambiaL.

As a child of Allah, I cannot hate a person. I refuse to clap when
Jammeh arrests even my worst enemies. If we continue with such behavior,
we will certainly negate our progress.

If Joe hates Dibba, that is his problem. I believe in all sincerity that when
Jammeh arrests and tortures any Gambia, he directly has attached every Gambian.

Since when can one say with malice that someone deserves to be arrested
and tortured by Jammeh. Remember your subjective statements relative
to Dibba's arrest. If we want to overcome Jammeh's tyrant behavior, we
have to be inclusive and objective. We also have to welcome his former
friends and associates.

By endorsing Jammeh's actions against those that we hate, we are
endorsing his actions. I know the responsibility that I have taken by
paying someones salary in the Gambia, who had been dismissed by
Jammeh. If we all can do that, then I believe our folks back home
will not have to depend on the dictator.

Finally, as a relative, I regret to even respond to you. Please call Gunjur
and someone with tell you the truth.

Naphiyo,
Comrade Jassey-Conteh
