Gambains and all interested groups,
I always consider my self and my family as Gambians. I started going to
Gambia in 1972 as a tourist until 1981 (immediately after the attempted
coup) when I resigned from the army at Lt.col.rank. I then joined the Un as
a consultant and I chose to base in Gambia.
I have never been involved in any major politic; but my second home(gambia)
was reasonably stable compared to her sister countries within the subregion
until the Jammeh-club formation of July 1994. I loose appetite since then;
but for the sake of my children I continued to live there until the 1996
general election when conditions became intolerable. My self, my wife and
our two kids left Gambia in November 1996 against our desire.
Major Bojang's attitude during the two elections especially in CRD have been
well noted by the International community, the Gambian civil populace and
even the security forces. When he was unceremoniously sacked by the
"undesirable-element" there was no sign of sympathy shown regardless of the
single-family culture of the whole country. Readers, has Bojang learnt
anything from that?
Working for ones nation is the bigest pride anybody can boost of. But!
resign if you were to be used as 'national-terrorist'. You are likely to be
offered a better job elsewhere when you show your patriotism through
resignation.
I would like to congratulation Major Bojang for his Major-appointment in his
Major-area (CRD). Now Mr. Bojang, again the elections are due, what is going
to be your Major-task for the Majority of Gambians?
