Abdoulie
Thanks for the recommended reading. I agree with the brief outline contention about pub stars image of Africa. The predicament of our continent is beyond humanitarianism. Mentioning Zimbabwe and its autocractic regime is an indication that our countinet's problem is not giving handout but good governance to challenge national issues of social justice and international unjustice global economic order which reduce our continent into dilemmas for humanitarian assistance. I think ever even Geldof and Bono recent have seen our continent problem beyond the image of the hand out. Bono's contribution in Jeffrey Sach's latest book- the end of poverty states ''Jeff is hard to ignore. At speaking events I've had to walk on after this man(it's like the monkees going on after the beatles). His Voices is louder than any electric guiter, heavier than heavy metal. His passion is operatic, he's physically very present animated. There is wildness to the rhetoric but a
rigour to the logic. God may have given him a voice with an amplifier built in, but it's the argument that carries the day'' Bono 2005).
