Senegalese support.

it goes over the crossbar.

46 mins: Senegal restart the second half

Half-time: Senegal 0-0 Nigeria.

Nigeria may have the edge at the moment based on the expulsion of Sarr. The
numerical situation will be a blow to the Senegalese who were driving this
match to their favour. It has been almost balanced, but it is Senegal who
looked like the stronger team in the first-half. It means Senegal would have
to play with one man short up front and possibly make a change to bring in a
midfielder. Nigeria have shown signs that they could stand the Senegalese
onslaught get the game their own way. Aghahowa has been tightly marked, but
Kanu seems to be working very hard and he only needs to be a bit consistent
to add punch to the attack.

46 mins: Aghahowa is shown the yellow card for a sliding tackle on Diatta.

45 mins: Senegal win a free-kick outside the box to the right. Fadiga plays
it craftily in the box. Camara swings a shot but it is saved by Shorunmu.

held up briefly.

clears it temporarily. Salif Diao heads again into the box, but no team mate
is available.

38 mins: Kanu is allowed another shot on goal for Nigeria. He shoots from
the right but the ball hits the side netting. He should have off loaded
rather than going alone.

34 mins: Sarr is sent off for what looked like a swinging elbow on Lawal.

33 mins: The match has gathered steam. Nigeria looking confident every
minute. Senegal win a corner but no opportunity from the setpiece

28 mins:Aghahowa nearly rounds Daf and Sylva in the box. Sylva dashes to
fall on the ball before the striker can put a last touch to it. Okoronkwo is
shown a yellow card as the game moves to the other end of the pitch for a
foul on Diouf. Fadiga fires freekick straight to Shorunmu.

26 mins: Camara plays a cross to Diouf. Diouf hits the crossbar and Shorunmu
collects.

24 mins: Aghahowa is fouled about 25 yards out. Okocha takes the kick, it's
a great strike, goes up and over the wall but slams against the post and
there is no one there to put it away for Nigeria.

23 mins: Nigeria raise their game. They possess with confidence and push
forward.

22 mins: West shields Camara off the ball inside the penalty area. Play
continues.

20 mins: Nigeria have their best and only chance so far. Kanu advances and
is allowed to shoot from 20 yards but his shot has little pace and goes
wide.

17 mins: Salif Diao advances on t he counter but Nigerian defence closes
quickly

16 mins: Diouf pleads for foul. The referee ignores it. Sarr crosses inside
the box and Fadiga blasts his shot wide from a narrow angle. kissing goodbye
to one of Senegal's best chances so far.

13 mins: Henri Camara could not beat West. Nigeria try to wake up but there
reaction looks slow.

11 mins: Pape Diop volleys a cross to Diouf. Diouf challenges to win the
aerial crossing but fouls West. Senegal look much hungrier for the ball
though.

10 mins: Poor cross by Diouf goalkick to Nigeria. A mix up between Kanu and
Finidi as Senegal win a throw.

9 mins: Nigeria seem to be on the defensive. The last four minutes have been
in favour of Senegal.

8 mins: Shorunmu kicks poorly in field. Senegal in possession. Diouf plays a
combination with Sarr. Sarr is cut out by Udeze. He is injured in the
process and has to be taken off.

6 mins: Fadiga plays the freekick deep inside the Nigerian penalty area. The
ball is cleared by Okocha. But Senegal press on as Diouf is caught offside.

5 mins: Second successive throw to Senegal. Ferdinand Coly is fouled by
Aghahowa. He plays the freekick short to Diouf. Diouf is also fouled.

4 mins: Diouf goes down but referee Codjia Coffi says play on. Senegal now
in the Nigerian half Fadiga crosses inside the box but the ball travels high
and over the line.

3 mins: Nigeria deep inside the Senegalese half. Kanu tries to beat a
defender but he is blocked. Finidi is offside.
