To soccer fans in general and Scorpions supporters in particular, I am
pleased and profoundly proud to share with you, that the Rhode Island
Scorpions has captured the championship trophy played for on Sunday, July 21,
in observance of Liberia's 155th anniversary.
After a two all draw at the end of regulation between the Scorpions and Lone
Stars, the two sides opted for PKs which the Scorpions won 3 - 2.
My congratulations to the Scorpions and sincere appreciation to the Liberian
community in Rhode Island for inviting us to the tournament.
