Gassama:
US foreign policy does have many double standards. The conduct of states in
the international arena is usually judged by how their perceive any given
situation in relation to their key interests. The US like any other country
does shape its foreign policy to suit its interests. The main reason her
double standards are so glaring is because it is the richest and most
powerful state on Earth. Most countries do exhibit relative levels of double
standards in their dealings with other states. Just look at the amount of
countries which supported apartheid to various degrees.

In short, I totally support the fact that military industrial complex is
being strengthened here. Given the rapid advances in technology this country
should try to develop more & better ways to combat potential threats to the
stability & prosperity we enjoy here... This country cannot afford to find
better ways to avoid terrorism while certain countries and organizations are
hell-bent on destroying everything it stands for.

And, Gassama, the threat of terrorism is very real. It cannot be overstated.
