KAUR DISASTER RELIEF FUND

PRESS RELEASE
For immediate release

The KAUR DISASTER RELIEF FUND has been formed on Wednesday August 25th 1999
by the citizens of Kaur in response to the urgent need for assistance to the
flood victims of Kaur (Kaur Janneh Kunda, Kaur Touray Kunda and Kaur
Wharftown). The main objective of the Fund is to raise D50, 000 (fifty
thousand Dalasis) by Wednesday September 1st 1999 to purchase urgently
needed food, soap and other basic needs.

All citizens of Kaur in living in the Greater Banjul Area are urged to
donate a minimum of D25 (twenty-five Dalasis) each. We are appealing to all
donor agencies, the private sector, Parastatals, individuals and all
sympathisers and well wishers to assist in this fund raising drive and to
help in avoiding a major catastrophe. Hundreds are homeless as a result of
the flood and there is a serious shortage of food, drugs and clean water at
Kaur.

A Disaster Relief Committee has been formed and is composed of the
following:

1. Mr. Alhagie Badara Jeng of King Fahad Travel (Hagan St., Banjul) 224-648
2. Mr. Sankung Janneh - 460-089
3. Mr. Lamin Camara - 375-527
4. Mr. Ebou Taal - 395-459
5. Mr. Banding Sillah - 395-364
6. Mr. Ousainou Jagne - 494-242
7. Mr. Tombong Saidy - 374-223
8. Mrs Fatou Nyan - 484-865
9. Ms Ndey Njie - 496-835
10. Ms Ramou Gaye
11. Mr. Ansumana Ceesay - 201-722

Mr. Tombong Saidy is the Co-ordinator and Mr. Ousainou Jagne is the
Secretary.

Citizens of Kaur will be soliciting funds and will be carrying a specially
designed circular (coloured form) to be signed by any one who donates.
Donors could also take their donations to TIMBUKTU BOOKSTORE on Kairaba
Avenue (Opposite Sabena Office), King Fahad Travel, Hagan Street, Banjul;
Diana's Fast Food at Serre Kunda near the Bakoteh Shell (395-400) and
Capital Insurance, Aglesea, Banjul.

Your contributions would go a long way in relieving the suffering of
hundreds of needy people. The most vulnerable groups are the children and
women.

Mr. Tombong Saidy
Co-ordinator
