The Washington State Africa Network is pleased to present:

WHO:    Dr. Patrick Duffy

WHAT:   "Malaria in Africa Today"

Dr. Duffy, working at the Seattle Biomedical Research Institiute while on
loan from the Walter Reed Army Institute of Research in Wasington DC,  is
doing research on a malaria vaccine as part of a Gates Foundation grant.
Come and hear the latest on the progress being made to combat this disease
which primarily affects developing nations--particularly in Africa--and
which kills at least a million children every year.

All welcome!  Bring a friend!

Come at 7 PM and attend our open business meeting.  The WASAN has among its
goals:  to provide a forum for organizations involved in Africa, to
disseminate information about Africa, and to coordinate resources in
Washington State for the benefit of the people of Africa.  We host monthly
presentations and maintain an e-list with information about Africa.  To
