Abdul, thanks for your offer to help. Since the account resides in Atlanta,
it is easier to just go ahead with your process with Kebba Foon or Saloum
Njie, whose name is on the account currently.

>>Abdoul, thanks for your input. With all the noise, the account has been
>>residing in Atlanta, since September and not in Illinois. I'm just
>>keeping
>>the books. I don't know about Atlanta, but in Illinois you cannot open an
>>account as a not for profit without registering with the state, especially
>>with the current terrorism climate. The issue was registering the fund
>>and
>>the accusations that ensued. Remember, we are talking about registering a
>>fund that has a political purpose, not for music production, etc. But,
>>since folks are licking their chops about how easy it is to register the
>>fund, well they are Gambian just as Joe and Saloum, let them just deliver
>>and it's as good as gold. Saloum also volunteered to invite lawyers to
>>see
>>whether we can do as the Cubans, Israelis, etc., contrary to the
>>misinformation abound. For those interested, way back in June or July I
>>had listed all the reasons why we cannot legally, and it is in the
>>archives
>>for folks to reference, and that is after meeting with Bank One officials.
>>Saloum's strategy was to try to do like the Cubans, not trying to fit a
>>circle in a square as it's been mongered.
>>
>>"Depending on the nature of the organization, my suggestion to Joe is to
>>apply for one for the main purpose of depositing the contributions. It is
>>really not a difficult thing to do."
>>
>>Abdul, the above cannot be done in Illinois, may be in Atlanta. If anyone
>>is reading from Illinois, please give a contrary fact to mine if it exist.
>>We registered the Gambian Association in Chicago and had to register with
>>the state, even to just open an account, because that is how the state
>>keeps tab as to what org. should pay taxes and those that don't. Totally
>>different from an individual account. We have been talking about this for
>>almost six months, I'm surprised as to why folks from other states that do
>>not require registration did not step in. Or, is that not the case?
>>
>>I had also suggested to Dr. Saine, George Sarr, Kebba Foon, et al to open
>>an account in the Gambia to circumvent this problem, back in April.
>>However, now I see it is a new idea coming from George. I also consulted
>>with Soffie Ceesay as to how they did it for the April 10 victims, but you
>>cannot just walk in a bank in Illinois and tender any name that is not
>>yours and open an account without registering with the state. Boy, Drug
>>Dealers may just want to relocate to Atlanta. It does not cut it in
>>Illinois. You have to register with the state! The rules may be
>>different
>>in Atlanta or other states.
>>
>>"The bank will ask for a tax identification and in some rare cases an
>>article of association."
>>
>>Abdul, in Illinois, the GAC had to do the above and much more to have an
>>account named "The Gambian Association of Chicago", so we do not pay taxes
>>and thus cannot engage in certain activities and discriminatory practices.
>>I also approached the GAC to use our tax ID to open the account for the
>>fund, but was voted down, yes we had to vote.
>>
>>"I really don't think that opening a bank account should be tied to
>>registering the fund."
>>
>>Again, Abdul, in Illinois, you have to. Besides, registering of the
>>account has always been the issue, so crooks like Joe and kebba will not
>>steal the collections. :-)!
>>
>>"This way people can write their contributions in the name of Save The
>>Gambia rather than the individuals name."
>>
>>Abdul, believe me the last thing I need is to be in charge of anyone's
>>money but mines, especially in this instance. Kebba, if you are reading,
>>you heard Abdul, so let the magic work.

>>>Please allow me to add one suggestion.
>>>
>>>In my involvement with organisations such as Gamlanta, GRO, UGOA, Juffure
