Africa (2006)
The Ecosystem Approaches to Human Health (ecohealth) Training Awards
encourage graduate-level students to examine the relationships between
the environment, human health, and sustainable development from a
holistic perspective through field research. The focus of this year's
competition is the study of linkages between communicable diseases,
health and the environment.
Applicants are asked to submit proposals that use ecosystem approaches
to analyze the links between human health and the social and ecological
determinants of communicable diseases. They are also asked to identify
potential intervention strategies based on better natural resource
management that will help prevent the transmission of disease while
preserving ecosystem sustainability.
The deadline for receiving applications is May 31, 2006.
