Edi, thanks for your position on this issue. I however, find it hard to
believe that you are willing to support a known thief at the expense of the
Gambian people. Leave Ebou Jallow alone! We have someone who stole
millions from us and you suggest we leave him alone. What are you going to
suggest next, that we leave Yaya alone? Please rethink what you are
requesting from the Gambian debtors (you, myself, the farmers, etc.). This
is money that we are going to repay with interest and we did not benefit
from it. It is this sort of thinking that has Gambia where it is today (35
years of looting). Someone stole from the national treasure and what do we
see, the very people he stole from beg from him and turn around to defend
him. Not to say you are one of those people, but you sure do act like them.
This brings back to memory what Charles Sam said about the culture of
greed that prevail in our society which we need to stamp out. When it comes
to national interest, I have no friends. I am not surprised that some folks
are going to defend Ebou Jallow. Historically, that's how we are. We
glorify the thief with the expectation of getting a trinket from the loot.
Now that I know your position and you know mine on this issue, why don't we
agree to just follow our conscience and do what we need to do. You have a
right to understand and leave Ebou Jallow alone, but I don't. If you can
talk about Yaya, I see no reason why you can't do the same with Ebou.
Thanks for your contribution.

Chi Jaama
