Hello friends:

I have talked with the State Department regarding the newly nominated Ambassador to The Gambia, Mr. Jackson McDonald. His confirmation by the U.S. Senate is expected. I have suggested to the State Department about Gambians in the U.S. meeting Mr. McDonald before he departs for Gambia and they have agreed.

I need the names of people interested to participate in such a meeting as soon as possible. The State Department need the names to schedule the meetings. Mr. McDonald will listen to opinions on all issues relating to Gambia and US-Gambia relation. ALL political party advocates are encouraged to participate. For those interested, please send me a private email at [log in to unmask]

Honorable George Haley’s tenure as U.S. Ambassador to Gambia is scheduled to expire in July 14, 2001. It will be interesting to meet with him and get some feedback on his experience during his tenure.

Take care,

James Gomez, Jr.
