Theme: "It is the Economy stupid"

38 Years ago, when most of us on this forum were not born, or were very young, our fathers decided to take over direction of our country, our heritage and our civilization. Well, that country's economy has threatened the survival of the Gambia as we know it. Some of us will argue that the Gambia that was handed over to us by the colonial masters was a much more promising country.

As part of the celebration of our independence, the Atlanta Gambia community is having a forum to discuss the state of the economy, and the developmental challenges we face as a nation.

Some of the crtical issues:

A.      What are the developmental challenges?
B       The role of the IMF and the World Bank.
C.      What is behind the slipping of the Dalasi?
D.      What has happen to the Groundnut industry?
E.      What role can the Diaspora play to the stablity ot the currency?
F.      Is the Gambian economy beyond repair.
