For several years I have mostly just watched the conversatoins here but am becoming annoyed
with these messages. I an not into censoring anyone but I do not see the point and wonder why
these posts are being allowed. I read the guardian on line and it is entertaining, but I do
not consider it to be objective enough to be worth quoting or forwarding. If I want to read
the guardian I will go to the web site and read it, not look for it on Gambia-l.

America has something to celebrate, so let America celebrate. Conspiracy theories aside,
President Bush won both a majority of votes, as well as the majority of the US electoral
college votes. Yes, there are imperfections, but the U.S. has the worlds oldest
constitutional democracy. Full stop. End of story. It's constitution has only been amended
a score of times in 200+ years! Compare this to countries where the constitution changes with
the mood of the leader/dictator and the elections are a farce. Other countries spend millions
to celebrate things like olympic games, royal weddings or a monarch's birthday. Let America
celebrate democracy -- the greatest form of government the world has ever known.
