The following statement which is culled from Microsoft(TM) Encarta(TM)
Online Encyclopedia 2001 in my view represents the greatest legacy that L.
S. Senghore left behind for Africa as a whole. By the standard of African
leaders, this was a significant credit to his image:

" In 1981 he resigned in favor of his prime minister, Abdou Diouf, thus
becoming the first leader of an independent African country to give up power
voluntary."

The yoke of oppression must be shattered!

BMK
