Joe & Malamin,
You mentioned about assisting the opposition financially in the coming
parliamentary elections, but it is very difficult to assist a divided opposition
against Jammeh`s mechanism. Let me give you an example, Jammeh can authorize any
department to write and ask for donations in the name of WE the Gambian people,
and it will be certified by the Ministry of External affairs, and then sent to
different Gambia Embassies throughout the whole world. If these Embassies
receive these donations, he can use them, for his financing of elections
campaigns throughout the country. You should remember that this is no money from
any AFPRC supporter, but instead money in the name of all Gambians. Nobody will
ever trace, that Jammeh has taken government money, neither will we ever know
where Jammeh`s money came from. These are the kinds of money Jammeh can tell us,
that it came from ALLAH. Because he knows we will just accuse him without
evidence. He learnt a lot from the people he was hiring and firing. I would
suggest, if we can get the opposition to unite under one umbrella, we can form
an organization and give it a name, and also try to get donations from
organizations and companies in the name of our organization, throughout the
whole world. But I am afraid, we are running out of time, because the opposition
is not united, and the time for the elections is very near. If we want to ask
for contributions from individuals, with this divided opposition, the same thing
that happened in the presidential elections will happen again. You will see each
contributor claiming his / her contribution to be donated to party X / Y / Z.
If the opposition cannot come under one umbrella, i am afraid it would be very
difficult for us to achieve our goals, and Yaya will always be the winner.
Elhajj.
