Hi!
Jabou, the interview was indeed touching. Especially touching for me were the parts where MJ asked what the Gambian people wanted from the musicians, why the Gambian people found it impossible to like them, what they can do to make the Gambian people like them and then maybe if they did those things, they would be appreciated. Another touching part was where Tiju stated that some Gambian promoters living abroad go to Gambia and demand that musicians who want to meet them pay them before doing so. He wondered how a musician, who was not even in a position to record, could pay for meeting a promoter on a time basis. We do indeed need to support our musicians in any small way. We can do it by supporting them in cash or kind, by contracting them to perform, by promoting their music or by even giving them a call to encourage them.
Saul, the guys are crying out because they desperately need help. It is very depressing to hear that Gambian musicians find it impossible to sell 500 copies of their cassettes. This means that after untold hours of hard work and all the finance that goes into producing a cassette, it is impossible to sell 500 copies at D35 or D40 or D50. At D50 a copy, this means D25, 000 which translates to around 950 US Dollars. I'll give you a call. Have a good evening.

Buharry,You are right, a very touching interview with these young men, Pepperhouse Crew. We definitely need to support our artists in so many ways. The exposure you accorded these guys is a start. There is not a wide variety of RAP music I like but it is amazing that when the topic is relevant it touches your heart. I am sure that entrepreneurs like yourself can make a difference.Jabou Joh

Hi!
Now showing on Raaki TV is an exclusive interview with the
talented, intelligent and dynamic Peppahouse Crew at Bulldoff Records
in Bakau. The group talks about how they started playing music, their
successes, trials and tribulations etc. Extremely touching. Have a good
evening.

Buharry.
